May 2024: Still time to influence Senate FY25 global poverty priorities

As the 118th Congress looks at its spending plan for fiscal year 2025 (FY25), it’s time to tell them what their priorities should be. As a leader in global health and development, the United States must prioritize maternal and child health and nutrition, basic education, and global tuberculosis programs. The time to influence the House is closed, but the opportunity in the Senate continues until May 13. Use this action sheet (Word version) to make your global poverty appropriations requests today!

May 2024: Tell Congress to protect SNAP

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) serves nearly 40 million people each month, providing critical nutritional support to help people put food on the table and lift themselves from poverty. Despite its effectiveness, House leaders are now proposing to cut SNAP’s modest benefits by $30 billion over the next decade.

As Congress works on a new Farm Bill, please write letters urging congressional leaders to protect and strengthen SNAP in Farm Bill negotiations.
