Some policymakers who strongly supported the EITC and CTC provisions also voted “no” because of concerns with other parts of the bill. For these reasons, it’s important not to conclude that those Members who opposed these bills did not support making the EITC and CTC provisions permanent. In fact, some of these Members actively promoted the permanent extension of those provisions.)
