As RESULTS kicks off our First 100 Days campaign, we’ll be pushing right away for more COVID relief that’s so desperately needed. The first 100 days will help decide which trajectory the country and world get on – one that goes back to “normal” after the pandemic, or one that actually builds with equity and justice.
Congress finally agreed to a new COVID relief package, which will help millions more people put food on the table, stay housed, and access lifesaving vaccines. To each of you who played a role in this, thank you. But our work is far, far from finished, as millions of people continue to live on the brink.
The White House has released a series of harmful proposed rules that target low-income people and disproportionately harm communities of color. In addition to the important legislative advocacy our grassroots advocates are engaged in, RESULTS has submitted several comments on these proposed rule changes.
Throughout my life, I’ve always lived paycheck to paycheck. Right now, I am one personal emergency away from not being able to afford my groceries or pay my rent. A lot of people around the country and the world are forced to live on the edge like that.
Structural racism continues to kill Black Americans at disproportionate rates, and one of the main factors that contributes to these rates is the lack of access to affordable housing.
