RESULTS International Conference – Policy Briefs Now Available

  • Registration is Still Openwww.resultsconference.org

  • What's the Latest? Check out the conference agenda

  • Prep Help. Take a look at the International Conference checklist and resources for guidance on how to make the most of your conference experience – even how to pack! We have a general FAQ page as well.

  • Have You Scheduled Your Advocacy Day Meetings with Congress? Let us know the details online so we can keep track and help support. *Remember that advocates who are home can potentially dial into your meetings on the Hill during the conference. Ask your legislators' staff if that can be arranged.*

  • *New* Policy Briefs Now Available. Check out the briefs on our primary global poverty requests for Advocacy Day: child health and tuberculosis. Find these briefs under "Policy Info" and familiarize yourself with what we'll be talking about with legislators during our day on the Hill.

  • Advocacy Day Prep Calls Underway. Please speak with your group members to coordinate and select the times that you are all available, if this is applicable. To facilitate the scheduling process, please have one person from your group fill in the this Doodle poll for global poverty-focused groups and be sure to include your state abbreviation (e.g., AK) along with your name. If you have any questions, please contact Advocacy Assistant Susan Fleurant at [email protected]. Susan will be in touch with groups to finalize the call time.

  • Sample Reception Invitation. Invite your representative and senators to join RESULTS' reception the evening of July 17 using this sample invitation.

  • Pre- and Post-IC Intensives. Coming to the IC early and interested in a Saturday morning with Marianne Williamson or an intensive on Running for Office? Does a post-IC intensive on building advocacy training skills to engage your community sound good? Register your intention to attend!

  • Donate to the International Conference Scholarship Fund. The RESULTS International Conference is an incredibly valuable opportunity for a RESULTS volunteer, and we don’t want any of our advocates to miss out on this experience because of the cost. That’s why we created the International Conference Scholarship Fund, which helps cover the costs of registration, transportation, or lodging for those who wouldn’t be able to attend without it. We strive to extend the opportunity for growth and inspiration to every RESULTS volunteer. Your tax-deductible gift will help make that possible.

  • Utilize the Twittersphere. Let your Twitter followers know of your excitement and about all that is happening. Make your tweet personal, including the #Voices4RESULTS hashtag and the conference main page – www.resultsconference.org – so others can be encouraged to register.

#LettersGetLOUD for Reach Act Advocacy

You all are doing outstanding work. Don't let up now.

The Reach Every Mother and Child Act (H.R.4022, S.1730) will make U.S. efforts on maternal and child health the best they can be through coordination, efficiency, and bold goals. This is the time to get this legislation passed.

As of June 27, we have 163 representatives and 28 senators on the Reach Act. We need even more cosponsors and champions in Congress to move this bill. Get senators and representatives to cosponsor the Reach Act, and if they are already cosponsors, move them up the Champion Scale by asking them to advocate for and lead on the issue. Current cosponsors have a real stake in this legislation – encourage them to help gain the support that's necessary.
