“The United States of Hunger” will discuss the persistent issue of food insecurity. It is not a new phenomenon. It is a longstanding problem rooted in American society. Nutrition is one of the essential pillars of basic needs. This webinar looked at current government dietary guidelines and economic reality. The discussion connected housing affordability and food insecurity. Attendees received insight into how food insecurity affects public health. Inadequate access to food affects health outcomes. Repetition of ineffective strategies has led us to where we are today. Food insecurity in the richest nation in the world is unacceptable.
