The Right to Education Index (RTEI) is a global accountability initiative that aims to ensure that all people, no matter where they live, enjoy their right to a quality education. RTEI is a global index built out of the international right to education framework to monitor national progress towards its fulfillment.
August 2020: We are down to the wire. Congress has yet to create a global response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Lives and progress are at risk. We must remind Senators and Representatives of our leadership role in the world on global health and development and call for action. April 2020: Congress will soon be working on another COVID-19 emergency response bill. We must ensure that low-income partner nations are not left out of the response, as the challenges are mounting. We are already seeing suspension of critical vaccination and disease-control programs, and hunger & malnutrition is predicted to be catastrophic. April 2020: As COVID-19 reaches poorer nations, it is the most marginalized who are most at risk. Congress must take action to bolster the response to COVID-19 in partner nations, ensure we do not backslide on progress made on health and education, and help nations address non-health impacts like the near shutdown of education in many partner countries.
