DFW/RESULTS Oct. Webinar: COVID & Candidates

COVID-19 is the most challenging issue facing women, girls, and children right now, so it is critical we continue advocating for a COVID-19 response bill that includes a global response. It is the most important issue we can be advocating for at this time. We encourage you and your friends and colleagues to write to your members of Congress and write and submit letters to the editor. We also encourage you to directly contact congressional staff with our request (let Leslye Heilig or Ken Patterson know if you need help with this). If a COVID-19 bill is not passed before the election, we’ll continue to pressure Congress pass a bill with a global response after the election. Your advocacy has made a difference (see how in the slides or recording) but our work is not done yet.

We also learned how we can connect with House candidates before the election so they know who we are, what we work on, and how we can be of value to them. Engaging them before the election will give us a foot-in-the-door after the elections and greater influence on our issues.
