2018 RESULTS International Conference: Earlybird Rate Ends May 15

The July 14-17 International Conference (IC) is one of the last big moments to make real progress on our issues before Congress leaves for the August recess and turns its attention to November elections. Before they are distracted, they must take action to protect FY19 global health and education programs, including moving the Reach Every Mother and Child Act toward passage. We'll get this done by being in Washington in force. Make sure your group, your state, your district are represented!

Give people the opportunity to become the powerful change makers they want to become by inviting widely and often. If current advocates are struggling to afford the trip to DC, encourage them to get help through the IC Gap Fund for Global Advocates. (Time is running out to apply – don't delay!) Our advocates are our most important asset and we believe in investing in you.

Moms and Kids in May: Reach Act Advocacy and Friends & Family Fundraising Campaign

1. Creating Momentum to Pass the Reach Act. The Reach Every Mother and Child Act (H.R.4022, S.1730) will make U.S. efforts on maternal and child health the best they can be through coordination, efficiency, and bold goals. It's time to pass this legislation. Here's what you can do:

  • Get senators and representatives to cosponsor the Reach Act. If they are already cosponsors, move them up the Champion Scale by asking them to advocate for and lead on the issue. Use the Reach Act #LettersGetLOUD Outreach Guide and Action Sheet to mobilize your community. Gather letters for in-district and in-state meetings. You can also bring letters to the International Conference for hand-delivery!
  • Use the new Reach Act editorial packet to get editors to write and to craft your own Mother's Day op-eds and letters to the editor.

2. Raising Funds to Support RESULTS' Advocacy for Moms. The RESULTS Spring Friends & Family Fundraising Campaign will take place during the entire month of May. You have lots to be proud of and lots of "advocacy hope" to share with friends and family. Want to launch a fundraising page? We've made it simple for you. Need assistance? Mea Geizhals, Grassroots Fundraising Manager, stands ready to help.
