In July 2026, RESULTS is hosting three days of learning, action, and connecting with advocates across the country. We will have a special program followed by a day of advocacy on Capitol Hill, with coordinated, powerful advocacy meetings with members of Congress.

With threats to basic need programs abounding, staying up to date can be a challenge. But not to worry because Ellen Nissenbaum from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities will provide a Hill update with the latest intel and insights to make your advocacy day even more impactful. After the update, Ellen will stick around for a fireside chat with RESULTS Executive Director Joanne Carter about the important role advocates play in protecting basic needs programs.

As global health efforts enter a new chapter shaped by funding cuts and shifting political priorities, building and sustaining the political will to end preventable deaths is more important than ever. Join global health leaders to reflect on the impact we’ve achieved together and discuss how U.S. advocates can continue to advance progress through effective advocacy and solidarity with communities around the world.

Session 1: Building Power from Home to the Hill 

Power doesn’t start in Washington; it starts at home. In this interactive session, you’ll map the people and relationships that shape decisions and uncover how influence flows from your community to Congress. Using insights about your Member of Congress, you’ll identify who matters, where you have access, and where you can build power and influence. You will begin your power map and leave with concrete next steps. 

Session 2: Unlocking Your Voice for Change 

Join the Experts on Poverty to transform your unique life experiences into a concise, high-impact narrative that shifts hearts and minds on Capitol Hill. Learn the science of storytelling and gain hands-on practice drafting the powerful personal “hook” you can use in lobby meetings.

Session 3: From Passion to Persuasion: Crafting Your Ask!

Turn your passion for ending poverty into a clear, compelling ask that moves decision-makers to act. In this interactive session, participants will learn and practice concise U.S. and global poverty laser talks to confidently translate their values into impactful advocacy conversations.

Come learn from congressional aides what lobby meetings are like. How do you prepare? What do offices want to hear? How should you follow up? Let us demystify the process for you and get you ready for a powerful Lobby Day – and beyond.

It’s time to prepare for a powerful Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. This fun and interactive session will include a final review of our U.S. and global policy requestsWe’ll also role play what to say in lobby meetingsdistribute lobby meeting materials, and answer your questions.

4:15pm-4:30pmAdvocacy Day Logistics Refresher

4:30pm-7:00pmInformal Advocacy Day Prep and Dinner (Meal provided)

Gather with advocates from your state to plan your lobby meetings and practice what you will say. RESULTS staff will be available to answer questions and provide additional coaching. It’s almost time to raise our voices on Capitol Hill!

Join us on Capitol Hill to kickstart a day of powerful advocacy, with remarks by members of Congress.

Head out with your groups to meet with your senators and representatives.

Gather one last time to celebrate a day of action along with special guests and members of Congress. Well also honor the recipients of the Cameron Duncan Media Award and the Bob Dickerson Grassroots Leadership Award. (Light refreshments will be served.)

The National Conference will be held July 12-14, 2026 in Washington, DC. The main trainings will take place on July 13 at American University Washington College of Law. Here’s the schedule at a glance:

  • July 14: Hill Day (morning/afternoon) and Congressional Reception (evening)

We’re excited you’re meeting with members of Congress! On Tuesday, July 14, we will all head to Capitol Hill to lobby congressional offices. So we can support you with these meetings, please complete this form to share details about your meetings. From prep to follow-up, RESULTS staff is here to help you feel confident and ready. While the format has evolved to a more focused schedule, the core objectives and experiences remain the same: bringing advocates together for high-quality training and education, meaningful connections with fellow advocates, direct engagement with policymakers, and strategic advocacy on Capitol Hill. You’ll still experience the inspiring community, skill-building opportunities, and impactful congressional meetings that have always been at the heart of our gatherings.

Registration is now open at a fee of $100 (nonrefundable). RESULTS does not recoup the costs of holding the conference through registration fees. We’re committed to keeping the conference as accessible as possible. You can register using the link above.

We’ve reserved a block of hotel rooms for our National Conference. Now is a great time to register for the conference and reserve your room.

RESULTS has secured a group discount at the Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion, which is a 5-minute drive and one metro stop away from the conference location. Be sure to use this link and book your room before June 12 to receive a discount. Rooms include a king size bedroom and living room with a queen size sofa bed. (RESULTS does not provide support for individual bookings made through the host hotel.)

We understand that travel and accommodation costs can be a barrier to participation and seek to make this accessible. We have limited resources but will provide financial assistance options to help make the conference accessible to more advocates. The deadline to submit an application for financial assistance is June 12, 2026. Click here for more info and to apply for assistance.

While we won’t seek donations to a specific scholarship fund as we’ve sometimes done in the past, we will be extending financial assistance to make the conference accessible. If you are in a position to contribute financially, we ask that you give generously to RESULTS Educational Fund by making a donation today. Furthermore, during the conference itself, please know that we will enthusiastically invite participants to make a gift. Your generous financial support is what makes the organization’s work possible.

We welcome everyone, from seasoned advocates to first-time attendees! The conference will include training sessions designed for all experience levels, from those new to advocacy to seasoned grassroots leaders. This is a perfect opportunity to deepen your skills and connect with our national network.

This conference is designed as an in-person experience, particularly given the importance of face-to-face meetings with members of Congress on Hill Day. However, we will explore ways to share key content and moments with those unable to attend in person. More details will be provided as we finalize the program.

Our branded merchandise is available for purchase from our online Threadless shop. T-shirts, tote bags, etc. will not be available for purchase at the conference, so please place orders through the shop.

The shop includes our newest logo design, as well as two vintage designs from RESULTS’ brand in the 1980s.

Dear RESULTS Community,

I’m thrilled to announce that we will be convening an in-person National Conference in Washington, DC in July 2026. Registration is now open! We’re excited to reunite our passionate community of advocates for what promises to be an inspiring and impactful gathering.

This National Conference will be an opportunity to come together in community, deepen our knowledge of the issues, strengthen our skills, and make our voices heard on Capitol Hill.

We will bring together grassroots advocates, policy experts, influential decision makers and congressional champions for three days of training, networking, and direct advocacy on Capitol Hill. With constituent advocates from across the country in DC in July, we will demonstrate the power of our network and advance critical anti-poverty legislation.
