All year long, we’ll meet with Congress to help them do three things:
1) Set PRIORITIES based on poverty and evidence, not politics.

2) Allot the FUNDING needed

3) Require OUTCOMES for people and communities.

End of Year Goal

Our goal by the end of 2026 is:

Congress used its influence to re-forge a system to deliver U.S. funding directly
The U.S. is maximizing the pooled global funds that are ready to deliver impact right away

In 2026, we are:

Continuing the fight for a more just tax code.

Urging lawmakers to fully fund Housing Choice Vouchers for Fiscal Year 2026.

Urging lawmakers to fully fund SNAP, WIC, and Housing Choice Vouchers for Fiscal Year 2027.

Pushing back against the harmful cuts to SNAP and Medicaid that are going into effect.

Congress has until Jan 30 to pass the remaining Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations bills. Housing choice vouchers are yet to be fully funded for FY26. We will urge lawmakers to meet the need and fully fund housing programs. They must also include guardrails to ensure the Administration spends the money as directed by Congress.

Every year, Congress decides where the government’s money goes. After harmful cuts in OBBBA, we need Congress to come together in a bipartisan way to protect – and increase – funding for SNAP, WIC, and housing programs that support low-income households. We’ll ask Congress to join public letters, submit their own funding requests, and weigh in with their peers in leadership roles.

Tax Day is a great time to publish media about tax priorities. Let your community and elected leaders know that you expect a tax code that supports families. We must improve the CTC and EITC, while raising revenue from fair sources to fund vital human needs programs like housing, SNAP, Medicaid, and WIC.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) included harmful work requirements and cuts to SNAP and Medicaid that will continue going into effect. We will fight against any further cuts, and urge Congress to reverse and/or delay existing cuts and fully fund SNAP for Fiscal Year 2027.

End of Year Goal

Our goals by the end of 2026 are:

Increase congressional support for a Child Tax Credit that reaches children from the lowest income families

Protect, preserve, and expand funding for programs that promote access to housing and nutritious food for low-income households and people living in poverty
