Then you'll be ready for us to kick off Group Planning in early January.

The Reach Act: We Need to Keep Going in 2016

We ended 2015 with a fantastic 27 Republicans and 35 Democrats on H.R.3706, the House version of the Reach Act. And we ended 2015 with four Democrats and four Republicans on S.1911, the Senate version of the legislation. We ended 2015 with approximately 200 pieces of media on the Reach Act, including around 15 pieces being published over the holidays. Incredible? You bet! But we must keep going.

The Reach Act will guide us in ending preventable maternal and child deaths by 2035. Maternal and child health needs our energy and focus.

Here's how you can take action here at the start of a brand new year:

1. Call your representative about the Reach Act.

2. Or write your senators

3. Or even write your local paper!

What Happened With Appropriations at the End of 2015?

Advocacy is a lot like sowing seeds and then waiting for something good to sprout up. We saw that, in the end, that was definitely the case when FY2016 appropriations finally wrapped up. Want to know how it all shook out? Check out this informative blog post by Crickett Nicovich, Senior Policy Associate.

Also, mark your calendars for appropriations work in 2016! An appropriations action sheet will debut in late January, and you can also join an informative webinar that will help set us up for success. On January 27, 9 pm ET, there will be a webinar on appropriations. How can we make a great case for U.S. funding for global development? What messages work best in our conversations with Congress? What are our global appropriations requests in 2016? Join us for an informative webinar to get these vital questions answered! Log into https://www.fuzemeeting.com/fuze/f2988286/31404402 or call (201) 479-4595, meeting ID 31404402 to join.
