Engage: Thanks for taking my call. I have an important request for the representative regarding House Resolution 517 in support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. At the height of the AIDS crisis, the world came together to fight back, pooling resources and creating the Global Fund. To date, the Global Fund has helped save 27 million lives, which is stunning progress.

Problem: Unfortunately, growing drug resistance, shortfalls in funding, and wavering political commitment are threatening progress in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria and threatening our chance actually to end these epidemics.

Illustrate/Inform: In France, on October 10, the Global Fund will convene an international replenishment conference to seek $14 billion for the next 3 years of critical work (2020-2022). This will save an additional 16 million lives. {Insert your story/why you care.} The US has been a driver of the Global Fund’s success and should continue to provide one-third of the resources needed to fight these epidemics.

Call to Action: Representatives McCaul and Engel have introduced House Resolution 517, in support of the Global Fund replenishment. Will the representative please cosponsor the Global Fund Resolution?
