Take Action
We are at a critical moment in global vaccine access. So far, international efforts to ensure everyone has access to the Covid-19 vaccines has been piecemeal, lacking urgency for those living in low-resource countries. But there is some hope. The House has put $2 billion in the reconciliation bill to increase vaccine manufacturing; now, we need to get the Senate to do the same. President Biden is also convening a group of world leaders on 9/22 to address the global pandemic and has set a goal of vaccinating 70% of every country’s population by September 2022. We’ll need to hold him and other leaders accountable.
Here is an article and an online action that you can take and share with others:
- Washington Post Article: Biden lays out new global targets on Covid. See more detailed targets here.
- Take Action: Write, call, tweet to your Senators, calling on them to ensure the Senate HELP committee includes $2 billion to increase vaccine manufacturing in the reconciliation bill. Also, under Partner Affiliation, please remember to select NPCA.
