Fundraising Update 10.12.09
Marianne Williamson, renowned author, speaker, and RESULTS/REF Board Member, inspired a capacity crowd of 350 in Detroit on Sunday, October 4
There wasn’t an open seat in the house at the Birmingham Unitarian Church in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, when Marianne Williamson took the mic at the RESULTS/RESULTS Educational Fund Benefit in Detroit. Williamson, a former Detroit resident and hometown hero brought fans from near and far to hear her message about powerful citizen activism and the role women play in being fierce leaders in the movement. The event also featured local RESULTS volunteers and RESULTS and Microcredit Summit founder Sam Daley-Harris.
Mary Albertson, RESULTS volunteer and organizing committee member, said, “I was in tears afterwards, it was so inspiring and overwhelming, and you could tell that Sam loved what Marianne was saying, and she him. It was an awesome connection!”
Congratulations and thank you to all of the staff and volunteers that helped make this an event to remember.
Houston RESULTS Benefit to feature Partners in Health Medical Director, Dr. Joia Mukherjee, and Seeds of Hope recipient Dr. Ana Malinow
For anyone who has heard Dr. Mukherjee before, you know the Houstonians in attendance are in for a real treat. One of the most inspiring speakers to grace the RESULTS/REF international conference, Dr. Mukherjee brings her incredible energy, wit, and sense of urgency when speaking about the diseases of poverty.
Do you have friends or family in the Houston area you would like to be invited to this event? Please e-mail RESULTS volunteer Kathleen Duncan at [email protected].
Make the most of the fundraising opportunities offered with the Combined Federal Campaign
Each year from September through December federal government employees are encouraged to make charitable contributions through a workplace giving program called the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
Millions of dollars are raised for thousands of participating organizations including RESULTS Educational Fund. Each year we raise approximately $5,000 from this campaign. Volunteers David Burns from New Jersey and Bob Dickerson from Washington State have both used this model in the past. David as a federal employee and Bob working through events organized by federal employees.
Do you know anyone working for the government? Let them know they can support RESULTS Educational Fund through the Combined Federal Campaign — our CFC #10683 is all they need to find us.
