Prerequisites: It is recommended to attend Diversity & Inclusion 101, Anti-Oppression 201: Structural Racism, or have some significant background in anti-racism and implicit bias work before attending this workshop. Learn more about our anti-oppression workshop offerings here.
This workshop will culminate in self-reflection and identifying race and class biases, including marginalized and oppressed populations. Ways in which we can develop multicultural perspectives and interrupt the deleterious effects of racial and class status will be discussed. A brainstorming session will be included to develop the tools necessary to learn to adopt a multicultural perspective of others and the necessary insight into race and class and ways to counterbalance their effects on the lack of equity in the U.S. Register here.
Note: RESULTS anti-oppression workshops and webinars are not recorded, so we encourage you to attend if you register. The Anti-Oppression workshops listed above limit 40 participants per session. Please register to reserve your spot! In the case that you are unable to attend, please be sure to cancel to release your spot for another volunteer. If you have any questions, please contact Karyne Bury ([email protected]).
