Finally! Something we all agree on!
In a huge bipartisan effort, Congress is saying that nutrition for pregnant mothers and their children matters and the U.S. support for this issue is critical for saving lives around the world.
No one should stand silent while one-third of the preventable deaths of young children are due to inadequate nutrition — that’s 2.5 million kids dying annually. When young children are malnourished, they become much more susceptible to illness, and much more likely to succumb from those illnesses. We can do something to cut those deaths dramatically by better focusing our nutrition efforts on the first thousand days of life – from pregnancy to a child’s second birthday.
Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle are taking a stand asking the Obama administration to support poor countries plans for scaling up nutrition and so should your Representative and Senators! Look at what you helped accomplish!
