Can We Really Build Bipartisan Champions for the End of Poverty? (Updated August 26)

At the 2013 RESULTS International Conference, a workshop was led by a few of our regional coordinators on working with challenging legislators. It’s our goal to support poverty solutions and poverty-solving legislation that resonates across dividing lines and really gets us all moving forward in saving lives. But where can we find encouragement when we find our legislators to be disengaged from our advocacy . . . or even highly resistant to it? When our issues are tied to other tough issues making the news or when legislators are challenging to schedule time with, the job of advocacy becomes even more difficult.
