Red states and blue states, big cities and small towns — you’re making headlines in every corner of the country.
When members of Congress pick up their hometown newspapers, they’ve been seeing the same message from RESULTS volunteers: Don’t pull the rug out from under low-income Americans.
Take a look at an interactive map of your media defending anti-poverty programs like Medicaid and SNAP (formerly “food stamps”).
Since the election, I’ve been watching that map light up as you get published. In 2017, you’ve been averaging a new media hit every 18 hours to protect these programs.
That means when Congress was staring down the devastating health care bill last week, they had already heard from you loud and clear. But we have to keep going. When new bad proposals come along — which we expect they will — Congress needs to know where you stand.
