Top action: Generate Support to Vaccinate 300 Million Children

Our goal: To get the United States to pledge $1 billion over four years at the Gavi replenishment conference in January of 2015. The U.S. pledge will support Gavi in raising $7.5 billion to vaccinating 300 million children from 2016 through 2020, saving over 5 million lives.

Got 2 minutes? Use our online action to ask your representative to cosponsor House Resolution 688 in support of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. If your representative is already a cosponsor, thank him/her and ask them to invite other representatives to cosponsor.

Got 10 minutes? Call your representative's office and ask to speak to the foreign policy aide. Ask that your representative please cosponsor House Resolution 688 in support of Gavi's effort to save millions of children's lives using vaccinations. The Perfect Storm for Building Healthy Groups and Powerful Advocates

We have organized the Gavi vaccination campaign to do great things in the world and build more powerful group's and advocates between now and January. Take advantage of the extra support RESULTS is providing:

• We have organized two media trainings in September– one in Houston, one in Seattle. We will cover the costs of sending RESULTS group members or Free Agents to the trainings. Grassroots News & Resources

Awesome Activist Feature Article. Check out this fantastic write up on RESULTS activists on the Global Poverty Project's blog. The partnership profile highlights our work on the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) pledge, and features activists Willie Dickerson of Snohomish, WA; Ken and Linda Schatz of Tampa, FL; Anne Child of Austin, TX; and Debbie Baskin of Salt Lake City UT. It also includes photos of many other activists. Congratulations to those featured in the article! The article is a tribute to everyone's fantastic advocacy on GPE, and the importance of working in partnership.

How are we doing on face-to-face meetings? We set a goal for 2014 of meeting with all of the 199 representatives and one third of the 72 senators recovered through RESULTS chapters and Free Agents. Check out this new blog post by Anne Child updating us on our progress. We have done good work, But we have much to do before the end of the year. Check out upcoming recess opportunities in the blog.

• Arizona. A RESULTS group building event is happening in Tucson on September 11 at the University of Arizona, 6:00-7:30 pm, and a group start/advocacy workshop will be happening in Phoenix on September 13, 2:30-4:30 pm. Contact Amanda Beals if you have contacts in AZ.
• New York. A group start meeting & advocacy workshop has been planned for September 22 in Brooklyn. Contact Carol Huston if you have contacts in NYC. 
• Georgia. Efforts are under way to start a group at the University of Georgia in Athens on September 24, and rebuild the Atlanta group in September. Contact Amanda Beals if you have contacts in GA. 
• Kansas. Initial group start efforts will take place in Kansas City and Topeka on September 17, and Wichita and Lawrence on September 18. Contact Amanda Beals if you have contacts in KS. 
• Alabama. Initial group start efforts will take place in Auburn on September 23. Contact Amanda Beals if you have contacts in AL. 
• Wisconsin. A group start/advocacy workshop will happen in Madison, WI on October 4 from 9 am to 12 pm in Union South on the University of Wisconsin campus. Contact Ken Patterson with contacts you have in WI.
