Michele - Why I want to end poverty

December 6, 2023

I’ve been with Results since 1994 when I moved to San Diego. As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, I saw firsthand the impact that poverty prevention programs had where I served in Africa. When one exits the Peace Corps, the official acronym used is COS–Close of Service. The unofficial meaning of COS to a returned Peace Corps Volunteer is Continuation of Service. Advocating for Results is a way for me to do that for programs both here and abroad.

At a returned Peace Corps Volunteer lunch, I was introduced to an aide for former Congresswoman Susan Davis. When he asked what I did, I told him about Results. We had many meetings with Rep. Davis, and she was a supporter of our issues.
