Weekly Update | 2015 International Conference Edition!

The RESULTS International Conference Begins Saturday!

Whether you're here with us in Washington, DC, or reading this from wherever else you may be in the world . . . you are part of the power of RESULTS! We want you to feel included in what's happening here in DC and to know that, together, we are all growing stronger and more impactful in our advocacy.

We'll return to our standard Weekly Updates the week of July 27. In the meantime, here are some things you might want to do and enjoy if you are not here with us at the International Conference:

1. Stream select sessions from the International Conference! Go to our International Conference Resources page later this week for access to streaming sessions.

  • Saturday, July 18, 9 am-12 pm ET: Session with Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-WI), Linda Mafu (Head of Civil Society and Political Advocacy for the Global Fund), and author and RESULTS board member Marianne Williamson
  • Saturday, July 18, 1-2:30 pm ET: Opening of the conference featuring RESULTS Executive Director Joanne Carter
  • Monday, July 20, 9-10:15 am ET: "Reaching the Unreached: Financing the Sustainable Development Goals with Equity" featuring Gwen Hines (UK Executive Director of the World Bank and Shameran Abed (Director of Microfinance, BRAC)

  • Monday, July 20, 11:30 am-12:30 pm ET: Keynote with NETWORK Executive Director Sister Simone Campbell
2. Follow the Conference on Social Media. Are you on Twitter? We will be providing live updates, photos, and coverage of various plenaries and workshops. If you haven’t already, please follow us at @RESULTS_Tweets. @RESULTS_Tweets is our handle and #Voices4RESULTS is our conference hashtag

3. *NEW ACTION SHEET* Invite Your Community to Meet with Legislators in August. Begin planning now so that, during the August congressional recess, you and your fellow advocates can capitalize on meetings that will take place here on the Hill and general momentum from the conference. What's more inspiring than enrolling new people to be part of their first meeting with a member of Congress? Nothing!

4. Write! Write an op-ed in support of our upcoming maternal and child health legislation!

5. Take Our Survey. Missed the chance earlier this summer to weigh in on our survey for grassroots advocates? Here's your chance to take part! The online survey remains open for your input, but not for long, so share your thoughts with us today.

6. Read Up on Health Equity and Sustainable Development. Interested in the health equity and sustainable development discussions that happened this week at the UN Financing for Development Conference in Ethiopia? Read all about it on ACTION's website.
