Together Women Rise Webinar: Vaccine Leadership Needed (Aug. 2021)

The August Together Women Rise advocacy webinar with RESULTS focused on vaccines access and the need for leadership. We looked at actions we’ve taken so far (like the House sign-on letter to the President) and what still needs to be done. Our action for August is to write and submit letters to the editor calling on the president and Congress to take leadership on addressing the COVID-19 pandemic globally. We will not end the pandemic until everyone, everywhere has access to the COVID-19 vaccines. Until we do this, people  in low-income countries will continue to suffer and die, and the risk of new variants emerging will grow. This is both a health crisis and a moral crisis as only around 1% of people on the entire African continent have been vaccinated while more wealthy countries have vaccination rates of 40-60%. We must act.
