2019 Cameron Duncan Media Award Nominations

RESULTS is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Cameron Duncan Media Award. This award is given each year to a journalist or editor for outstanding work on issues related to poverty. The award is named in honor of Cameron Duncan, a former associate executive director of RESULTS who devoted his life to fighting poverty.

While there is no formal requirement for the journalist to accept the award in person, we very much hope the winner will join us to receive the award at the RESULTS International Conference in Washington, DC this July.

Along with a short nomination letter/email (1-3 paragraphs), please submit links to recent relevant clips that demonstrate the journalist’s dedication to poverty issues. Nominations can also include editors who consistently publish poverty-focused media pieces. Please send all nominations to [email protected]. Nominations are due Friday, June 7.

Some of the previous winners include:

  • Rosemary O’Hara, Editorial Page Editor, Sun Sentinel (FL)
  • Jerry Large, Columnist, The Seattle Times (WA)
  • Tim Nickens, Editor of Editorials, The Tampa Bay Times (FL)
  • John Breunig, Editorial Page Editor, The Stamford Advocate (CT)
  • Inez Russell Gomez, Editorial Page Editor, The Santa Fe New Mexican (NM)
