Guest Speakers:
Foreign assistance dollars, only about one percent of the U.S. national budget, provide lifesaving support and interventions for many globally. Those dollars provide treatment for patients with deadly disease and ensure that mothers and children receive food and prenatal care. They help tens of millions of children, particularly girls, attend primary school and achieve basic education. These programs not only provide essential services, but they also strengthen U.S. alliances around the world.
The current administration’s stop-work order on foreign assistance programs is a drastic first step in dismantling the framework through which this aid is delivered. It has “stopped a plane, mid-flight,” and puts lives at grave risk, particularly the lives of women and girls. So far over 1,600 actions from constituents like you have been made to reverse this executive order. Collectively, we will continue to push forward to restore, and improve, foreign aid.
At this webinar, learn more about our current state of global affairs, its impact on Rise grantees, and the ways you can advocate to Congress to reverse the negative impacts of these cuts. Register for the webinar here.
