Too often, global advocacy is shaped by the lens of Western charity — where the U.S. and other donor nations frame themselves as saviors rather than partners. But real justice asks us to move beyond the idea of “helping others” toward dismantling the systems that created global inequality in the first place. 

Together, we’ll reflect on the role of debt, aid, and donor power; the impact of white saviorism and cultural bias; and invite you, as advocates, to reflect on your own biases, assumptions, and roles in global advocacy. This session will push us to ask not just what is good for us — but what is truly good for the world.
