You make our work possible

“I want you to know that the resources you raise really are the most precious resources that the organization gets. I’m incredibly grateful. You make what we do possible.”

That’s what RESULTS Executive Director Joanne Carter said in a special video message to RESULTS Virtual Thanksgiving Feast fundraisers last month.

In November, immediately following the busy mid-term election season, 36 advocates joined the Virtual Thanksgiving Feast (VTF), RESULTS’ annual online peer-to-peer fundraising campaign. The VTF is an opportunity for RESULTS advocates to share their anti-poverty advocacy work with their friends and family and ask for an investment in our work. VTF fundraisers secure critical funding for RESULTS, but peer-to-peer fundraising is also an avenue for recruiting new group members, sharing accomplishments with the wider community, and celebrating with RESULTS group members.

Because of the hard work of VTF fundraisers and the generous support of our donors, the 2018 VTF has been our best ever! Our fabulous fundraisers have raised nearly $32,500 from over 250 donors. Not only is this more than we’ve ever raised during an online peer-to-peer campaign in recent years, but nearly half of it was secured in a single day. On Giving Tuesday, VTF fundraisers leveraged our gift-tripling match and raised nearly $15,000 from 120 donations. This is amazing.

Going into the new year, these funds will support skilled advocates as they meet face-to-face with the 116th Congress and create new champions for our work to end poverty. Throughout the year, these funds will provide on-going training, resources, and expert policy staff to support our volunteers.
