A Terrific Media Showing for Child Nutrition
Three editorials, nine op-eds, 36 letters to the editor, two online spots, and two press releases . . . our RESULTS grassroots advocates devoted to ending global poverty were the driving engine behind this media success in the run-up to the June 8 Nutrition for Growth Summit in the UK. While we didn’t achieve the bold U.S. funding pledge we’d hoped for, we were part of a nationwide awareness-raising campaign that we will continue to leverage, for this work isn’t over. We know that the U.S. identified more clearly their baseline nutrition funding levels and were part of the Summit’s commitment to accountability on child nutrition spending going forward. We will utilize our media work to build on this momentum and continue to seek the funding we need to save children from unnecessary stunting in the first 1,000 days of their lives.
