Will President Obama do what it takes for 29 million children?
Take Action: Reach out to media in your community to call on the U.S. Administration to do its part, committing $250 million over two years to the Global Partnership for Education. Everything you need is in our media toolkit.
Kids in the United States may already be counting down the weeks until summer break, but worldwide a staggering 57 million children have never stepped foot in a classroom in the first place. Perhaps even more disturbing, 2 out of every 5 kids can’t read a basic sentence or do even the simplest math.
That’s why the Global Partnership for Education is inviting donors like the United States to make commitments to basic education for the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children. By committing just $250 million over two years, the Obama Administration could be part of a shared global plan to support education for 29 million more kids by 2018.
Will President Obama and USAID Administrator Shah do what it takes for those 29 million girls and boys?
Media across the country is pushing them to say “yes.” Check back soon – the list is growing by the day.
