First Global Conference Call Focuses on Our Child Survival Campaign
We have our first conference call of the year tomorrow, Saturday, January 8. We’ll overview our 2011 campaigns, highlight group planning materials, and hear from activists responsible for the first face-to-face meeting this year. We will also learn about our one of our campaigns this year: vaccinations and child survival. We will be working to increase funding for GAVI, a global alliance for childhood vaccines and immunizations. We will be joined by a special guest from GAVI, Geoff Adlide, GAVI’s director of advocacy and public policy. Prior to joining GAVI, Geoff worked for the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), based at the Australian Permanent Mission to United Nations in Geneva. He was active on the Boards of UNAIDS and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, representing the Australian Government. Geoff previously managed AusAID country programmes in Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand and was a resident AusAID representative in Fiji. Before joining AusAID in 1995, Geoff spent seven years in media and policy advisory roles with Aboriginal Land Councils in Australia’s Northern Territory.
