Fall Fundraising Update

Thanks to all who have decided to roll up your sleeves and participate in fall fundraising! Whether you are hosting an event, conducting a local “Friends and Family Campaign,” or both, we are deeply grateful for your commitment to changing and saving lives.

We ask that you work with your groups to make a fundraising plan, and an estimate of what the group will raise during the campaign. We’ll keep track of the totals and support individuals and groups to achieve their goals.

If you are not part of a group, your efforts are really important as well. We encourage you to participate in Friends and Family, or make a personal donation via our website.

Your involvement in fundraising is so critical because it allows us to spread our reach and offer a larger community of people the opportunity to invest in ending hunger and poverty in the U.S. and around the world. Not everyone will say yes when we ask, but we persist because it is support from individuals that helps close the gap between grant funding and what it actually cost to operate the RESULTS and REF machine each year. The donations raised leverage millions of dollars toward effective programs and policies that give low-income people the means to survive. Your donations also allow us to remain independent and able to pursue the most effective poverty solutions.

Please be on the lookout for fundraising materials in the mail. We’ll be sending a supply of the 30th Anniversary Brochures, remittance envelopes, and the monthly sponsorship brochures. These materials can be used to accompany your solicitation letters to family and friends.

Other materials such as sample letters, the follow-up phone script, and thank you notes may be obtained online under the “skills” section of our website.

Thanks again for your willingness to participate in the Friends and Family Campaign. As we work collectively to create the public and political will to end poverty, your support means more to us than ever!
