Let's Get Started! National Conference Call on January 10 and Booking Face-to-Face MeetingsWe've heard the opening gavel of the 114th Congress. Now we get to work! Come together on January 10. It will be our first national conference call of 2015. It will be an abbreviated call to leave plenty of time for individual and group planning. Use the planning materials provided online and work with fellow advocates to dream up a fantastic advocacy year. What do you want to accomplish? Learn? Change? Contribute? Make plans now to meet with your group or be on the call as a free agent. Saturday, January 10 at 2 p.m. ET is the date, and (888) 409-6709 is the call-in number. Make your plan to book face-to-face meetings with the legislators who will be in office in your district and state beginning in 2015. Let Gavi be on their radar early in the session. Remember – new and returning members of Congress will be filling the start of the 2015 schedule with meetings. Why not make one of those meetings a RESULTS meeting focused on the power of Gavi? Find your legislators through our website, or contact Lisa Marchal, Senior Global Grassroots Associate, if you have questions on how to reach a new incoming legislator. |

Final Media Push for Gavi, the Vaccine AllianceUnbelievably, the replenishment conference for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, will be taking place in three weeks. We know your smart media work will make an impact, and we don't want any advocates to miss their chance to be part of that impact. Have you published your letter to the editor or op-ed yet? Use the December Action Sheet to write and submit an op-ed or letter to the editor on Gavi. Gavi offers hope for millions, especially children. That's the kind of story people appreciate at any time of year, but especially at this time of year. So seize this chance. Then use our handy online tool – share it via email/Facebook/Twitter – to ask your family and friends to write as well. If you want ideas, draw from media other volunteers have already generated. Make sure your community is talking about global immunizations – and send copies of the media you generate to your legislators. Great work, everyone! |
