VOTE!

It is Election Day! An election that has dominated both our news feeds and our minds is finally here. Whether you are most concerned about the highest seat in the land, or focusing on down-ballot choices for local offices, now is the time to be heard. We know from early voting data, people of all ages are taking the time to cast their ballots in this pivotal election. A nonagenarian standing in line amicably with the worker on her lunch break and the student voting for the first time. We’ve come far as a country. In just a few decades, we’ve gone from denying large swaths of the population the right to vote to record numbers of women, youth, and people of color voting. While we celebrate this progress, the journey is never over. We’d like to think that the days of marginalizing voters are over, but we know they are not. We must not be intimidated. We must not be deterred. We must be courageous and vote, knowing that the choices we make will determine our future.

As historian Heather Cox Richardson wrote recently, “After decades in which ordinary people had come to believe they had little political power, they have mobilized to defend American democracy and have discovered they are strong.”

Make your plan. Cast your vote. Then come back here and we’ll work together to be the change we want to see in the world.

Register for our November 14 “Organizing for the Future” webinar. Join the RESULTS community for a special webinar about our way forward after the elections. No matter what happens, we are going to raise our voices against poverty, together. You will learn about our policy platform and how you can make a difference with RESULTS now and into 2025. The webinar is Thursday, November 14 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Register today!
