Congress currently in a fast-track reconciliation process that will allow them to change federal tax and spending laws without needing any votes from Democrats. The current budget resolution proposes at least $1.5 trillion in cuts to vital health and nutrition programs. Republicans are clashing over the severity of the cuts. However, they may still be on track to pass a final bill in late May to early July.  They are moving with urgency because the resolution includes an increase in the debt ceiling, which will be reached this summer or early fall.
