Congress is on spring recess until April 13, so your representatives and senators are in their districts and states for meetings with constituents. Call the local scheduler today and ask for a time to meet — be creative! You can meet at their office, at a local coffee shop, or a community event.

Use our Activist Milestone #7 to guide you, and find a sample letter to send to your scheduler.

Exciting Education National Conference Call Saturday, April 10!Grameen Primary School

Join us Saturday, April 10, at 2:00 pm ET for our monthly global national conference call. Our focus will be Education for All and preparing for the Global Action Week as part of the Global Campaign for Education’s U.S. Chapter (GCE-U.S.). Our special guest will be the new director of GCE-U.S., Joanne Kuebler. She’ll discuss how we play a critical role in a global movement in 2010 to create a new Global Fund for Education. To join the call, dial (888) 409-6709.

I ask you, I implore you, redouble your efforts targeting communities and members of Congress who have not been traditional supporters of foreign aid. With all of our efforts working in concert, I’m hoping we’ll be able to continue to make strides in improving and growing our foreign assistance program so we can make a real difference in alleviating poverty the world over.
