Global Weekly Update June 23, 2014
The International Conference is in Full Swing: Be Part of It!
This week's update will be short and sweet, as we're in the midst of working on Capitol Hill to learn and lead for the end of extreme poverty here and abroad. But our network isn't just powerful in DC. So many of you around the country and around the world are hard at work at home raising your voice and creating the political will to end hunger and the worst aspects of poverty.
So check in with what's going on with the conference in a few different ways:
- On Monday, June 23, 9 am-12 pm ET, watch a live webcast from RESULTS International Conference 2014! We'll be livestreaming a panel event on ending preventable child deaths, featuring GAVI Alliance CEO Seth Berkley (@GAVISeth) and USAID Administrator Raj Shah (@RajShah). Then, World Bank President Dr. Jim Kim will take the stage with RESULTS Executive Director Joanne Carter to discuss ending poverty by 2030. Click to watch the webcast online!
- Follow the conference on Twitter at #RESULTSconf and @RESULTS_Tweets.
- Take a timely action with our U.S. poverty advocates on expanding economic opportunity in America. You can take this action alongside those who will lobby on Capitol Hill on June 24.
- Didn't get a face-to-face meeting in Washington? Book a meeting with a senator or representative for the August recess.
- Make a plan to talk about conference accomplishments and learnings back home.
- Consider donating to fuel the movement, or be part of the fundraising through the RESULTS Race to End Poverty!
