Funding the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria

Engage: For the first time in history we have a blue print to end AIDS, and we have all the tools to actually end this scourge.

Problem: But achieving the end of AIDS will require increased funding as only 8 million of the 15 million people who needs AIDS treatment are actually receiving it. Cutting funding for programs like the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria will cost lives and set the world back on this goal.

Inform: There is an opportunity for U.S. leadership on funding the Global Fund later this year — a pledging conference. If we show leadership at that conference, other nations will follow.

Call to Action: I would like the Representative (or Senator) to write and speak to Reps. Kay Granger and Nita Lowey (or Senators Leahy and Graham), asking them to fund the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria $1.65 billion in 2014. This will send the U.S. to the Global Fund pledging conference as a leader. I can provide you with additional information.
