Nominations Open: 2017 Cameron Duncan Awards
Washington, DC, March 8, 2017 – RESULTS is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Cameron Duncan Media Award. This award is given each year to a journalist for outstanding reporting on issues related to poverty. The award is named in honor of Cameron Duncan, a former associate executive director of RESULTS who devoted his life to fighting poverty.
While there is no formal requirement for the journalist to accept the award in person, we very much hope the winner will join us to receive the award at the RESULTS International Conference in Washington, DC this July.
Along with a short nomination letter/email (1-3 paragraphs), please submit links to relevant clips from the past 12 months that demonstrate the journalist’s dedication to poverty issues. Please send all nominations to [email protected]. Nominations are due Friday, April 7.
Some of the previous winners include:
- Tim Nickens, Editor of Editorials at The Tampa Bay Times
- John Breunig, Editorial Page Editor at The Stamford Advocate
- Inez Russell Gomez, Editorial Page Editor of The Santa Fe New Mexican
- Greg Kaufmann, Editor of Talk Poverty and formerly a contributor to The Nation
