Anti-Oppression 301: Oppression – The Missing Perspectives

April 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EDT

The Anti-Oppression 301: Oppression – The Missing Perspectives workshop will culminate in self-reflection and identifying race and class biases, including marginalized and oppressed populations. Ways in which we can develop multicultural perspectives and interrupt the harmful effects of racial and class status will be discussed. A brainstorming session will be included to create the tools necessary to learn to adopt a multicultural perspective of others, the required insight into race and class, and ways to counterbalance their effects on the lack of equity in the U.S.

Prerequisites: Attending Diversity & Inclusion 101 or having a significant background in anti-racism and implicit bias work is recommended before attending this workshop.

Facilitator: Dr. Christina Gunther, EdD, volunteers with the RESULTS Coastal Connecticut group and is an assistant professor and chair of the Health Sciences Department at Sacred Heart University.

Note: RESULTS anti-oppression meetings, workshops, and webinars are not recorded, so we encourage you to attend if you register. The Anti-Oppression workshops listed above limit 40 participants per session. Please register to reserve your spot!
