by Lisa Marchal, Global Grassroots Associate

David Rock, author of Quiet Leadership sets out a new method of coaching that helps you draw out wisdom, ideas, and insight from another person rather than telling that person what to do next. Basing his method on neuroscience, Rock outlines a fresh way of having a conversation that treats the “stuck” person with dignity and does not compel the coach to problem-solve. Check out Rock’s explanation of the techniques in his book Quiet Leadership and watch a mock coaching conversation, complete with a debriefing.
