Last week was an important deadline for appropriations requests in the Senate. Thanks so much to the Global RESULTS activists that worked quickly to get members to sign on to two Dear Colleague letters to appropriators to support robust funding for issues of global poverty.

The letter initiated by Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) in support of Maternal and Child Health, including support for vaccines through GAVI, garnered 11 signers. Check below to see if your Senators signed.

SIGNERS (11): Boxer (D-CA), Begich (D-AK), Cardin (D-MD), Coons (D-DE), Gillibrand (D-NY), Hagan (D-NC), Landrieu (D-LA), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Mikulski (D-MD), Stabenow (D-MI), Wyden (D-OR)

A bi-partisan letter supporting highest levels possible for basic education funding was also circulated by Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA). This letter is still circulating! If you have not reached out to your Senators, you still have time to get them to sign on.

CURRENT SIGNERS: Isakson (R-GA), Feinstein (D-CA), Akaka (D-HI), Bingaman (D-NM), Boxer (D-CA), Cardin (D-MD), Gillibrand (D-NY), Menendez (D-NJ), Sanders (I-VT), Whitehouse (D-RI), and Wyden (D-OR)

Our March Madness of appropriations sign on letters is winding down just as the college basketball tournament ends… Coincidence? Send your thoughts on approps/condolences on basketball to Legislative Director John Fawcett @johnpaulfawcett or @RESULTS_Tweets on Twitter.
