Congress takes one step closer to enacting disastrous tax cuts - Tell them NO

Last night the Senate passed their 2018 budget resolution 51-49, which paves the way for $1.5 trillion in unpaid-for tax cuts that benefit  millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations. Not only will this budget put SNAP (formerly Food Stamps), Medicaid, and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) at risk of deep cuts and restrictions, it will also exacerbate America’s vast wealth divide and destructive racial wealth gap. Millions of Americans will be negatively impacted.

Will you send a quick e-mail to demand that your members of Congress reject any tax legislation that is not paid for, makes wealth inequality worse, and puts core anti-poverty programs at risk?

We need your voice! The House and Senate will finalize a compromise budget next week and then House leaders plan to unveil their tax bill the week of October 30.

Please email your members of Congress now – they must get the message that voters oppose tax breaks for the rich that put millions of children, workers, and families at risk.

Thank you for all that you do.

Stay in action and up-to-date.
